Pocket Productions is led by Catherine Carr, an award-winning documentary maker, radio presenter, podcast producer and reporter with over 20 years experience of broadcast journalism.
Catherine is the host and creator of Relatively, the podcast about siblings, and also presents the discussion programme The Exchange on BBC Radio 4. In partnership with David Runciman and The London Review Of Books, Catherine produced the Talking Politics podcast for six years. Launched in 2016 the show went from a fledgling project into a globally-recognised and hugely successful brand with over twenty five million downloads.
Her Radio 4 series Walks Like A Duck won gold at the Hearsay Festival and was nominated for a Prix Europa. Catherine also created the five-part series Unspeakable for BBC Radio 4, about a survivor of the Rwandan genocide against the Tutsis, and is currently developing a three-part documentary series on mental health for the same network.
Catherine is also the presenter of Where Are You Going? – a documentary series for the BBC World Service, which won two golds at the New York Festival of Radio Programmes. She has also presented a season of the BBC’s Why Factor, and regularly contributes as a reporter to Radio 4's Woman’s Hour - a programme she used to produce before going freelance. In her time on staff at the BBC Catherine also worked as an on-air reporter and producer for Radio 4's other flagship programme, You and Yours: her specialty is producing highly-crafted, compelling and affecting radio features.
Catherine also creates branded content her most recent project is a series on the menopause, presented by Mariella Frostrup for the global skincare brand Dr. Barbara Sturm. She also offers a podcast consultancy service, advising those looking to create podcasts as well as supporting existing shows.
